Harold H. Pflughoeft, 78, of Winona, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2016, at his winter home in Spring Hill, Fla.

Harold was born March 1, 1937, to Emil and Viola (Volkman) Pflughoeft. Harold graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Janet Mae Lockwood on August 25, 1956, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, in Winona. The couple was blessed with three daughters.

Together they farmed for 29 years on Nagle Ridge. After retiring from farming, they moved to Colorado for four years. While living in Colorado, Harold started his second career as an independent over-the-road truck driver.

In 1989 they returned to Nagle Ridge and he continued to drive truck until his retirement in 2007. During his career he received many safe driver awards.

Harold served as an officer on the Wiscoy Town Board, was a member of the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department and also served on the Ridgeway Creamery Board.

In their earlier years, Harold and Janet enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycle riding with friends. Following his retirement, Harold enjoyed working in his garden, helping Andy farm, and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed. In the winter months he enjoyed the Florida sunshine and going to garage sales. They also enjoyed hosting the Annual Family Campout in July at the farm. Family meant so much to Harold and he was always available, whatever the need.

Harold was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, Minn., and also a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Spring Hill, Fla.

Harold is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Jody (Mike) Anthony of Pickerington, Ohio, Becky (Dan) Groth of Ridgeway, Sue (Brian Evans) Jacobs of Walker, Minn.; grandchildren, Charlie (Katie) Wilkerson, Holly (Bryon) Koenig, Andy (Maggie) Groth, Amy (Brandon) Robertson, Kari Groth, Tom (Shannon) Groth, CJ (Janna Drazkowski) Jacobs, Dustin Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Annabelle, Rachel, Kellen, Haley, Isaac, Meagan (Shawn) and Jaxon, Dimitri, Lillian and Kenley; siblings, Ruth Riley, LaVern (Carol) Pflughoeft, Betty (Dennis) Johnson, and Ken Pflughoeft; as well as brothers and sisters in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Viola; brothers, Raymond and Robert; sister, Helen; and an infant brother.

A memorial service will be held in Minnesota in the spring. Condolences may be sent to Janet at her home.
