The Winona County Sheriff’s Department received reports of two burglaries in rural St. Charles along the same county road.
Although the residents said they were unsure of when the burglaries occurred, both reports came in on Wednesday morning, both along County Road 43.
The first report came from a 45-year-old male resident who told police that cash and prescription pills were taken. Up to $650 in bills and change were reportedly missing, and there was no sign of forced entry.
The second caller, an 83-year-old woman, told police that there were no signs of forced entry at her County Road 43 home. She said she’d found a gift card missing along with an estimated $475 in bills and change.
The burglaries are under investigation.
