The Winona County Historical Society's Laird Norton Addition project is on schedule. Construction is moving into the Armory building and so the exhibit galleries will be closed January 8 until April. The Museum Shop will close January 1 and will reopen in July with the Laird Norton Addition. It will feature many of your favorites from the old store, including the American Girl Series. It will also have many new fun and beautiful items to offer! Books Unlimited will also close January 1. Used books will be offered in the new Museum Shop, but only the categories of history, architecture and biography. Gently used book donations in these categories will be accepted in May.
The WCHS' popular Food For Thought lecture series, evening classes and programs will still be scheduled, however, the annual Museum Open House will not take place this year in February. The classroom will be available for clubs and other meetings throughout construction. The Laird Lucas Library and Archives and Society offices will remain open as well. Visit Winona offices will also remain open.
The WCHS apologizes for any inconvenience while we are under construction. We cannot wait to open the Laird Norton Addition this July as part of the Society's 75th anniversary. The second half of 2010 and beyond will be very exciting - we have a lot in store for you! Stay tuned! Visit the WCHS online at www.winonahistory.org or call 507-454-2723 for more information.
Archives, Visit Winona/Society Offices and programs are unaffected.
