On Tuesday, December 20, at around 12:30 a.m. the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 hang-up call at S1502 CTH CC, Independence, Wis., where a frantic sounding female was requesting assistance for an unknown problem. Upon arrival, it was reported by other occupants of the residence that Blane K. Nehmer, 54, had been stabbed by his stepson, Casey C. Jarman, 32, of that address. Jarman was believed to be within the residence at the time of the officers arrival.
Entry was made to the residence with the assistance of the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department, Arcadia Police Department and Independence Police Department. Jarman was located hiding within an armoire and was taken into custody. Nehmer sustained non-life threatening wounds to his right leg and was tended to by the Waumandee-Montana-Lincoln First Responders and the Arcadia Ambulance.
Jarman was formally charged on December 20, with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and injury by negligent use of a weapon. Jarman is in the Buffalo County Jail on a $25,000 cash bail.
