Lake Winona Manor ugly sweater contest generates smiles and laughs

Lake Winona Manor residents and Winona Health staff found plenty to smile about at the Ugly Sweater Contest held on Friday, December 16.

More than a dozen people donned a festive sweater in hopes of getting the biggest laugh and the most votes for ugliest sweater.

“The residents loved it!” said Jennifer Schultz, therapeutic recreation supervisor at Lake Winona Manor. “They enjoyed the ‘fashion show’ with the models — and the contestants had a great time as well.”

The ugliest sweater winner was Lake Winona Manor resident Sharon Kottschade. The most festive winner was Lynda Sobotta, Lake Winona Manor administrative assistant, and Kelly Bartelson, a Lake Winona Manor trained medication assistant, was runner up.

Schultz noted that Lake Winona Manor staff and residents select special days to celebrate each month. “It’s another reason Lake Winona Manor feels like a fun and vibrant home, and it enhances the family-like connection between our residents and staff.”
