Cotter’s Jacob French to play ball for Saint Mary’s

Student-athlete Jacob French, son of Robert and Amy French, indicated his intent to play baseball for St. Mary’s University by signing an NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Celebratory Signing Form on December 21.

French, a three-year varsity player at Cotter high School and 3 Rivers All-Conference award winner, has a .333 varsity batting average and leads the team with doubles the past two years. French is credited with 34 RBIs during the past two years.

Assistant coach Don Freeman proudly shared that he vividly recalls coaching French as a 13-year-old with the Goodview Sandlot team, and watched him hit his first ball “out of the park.”

French has been playing for the Minnesota Blizzard for the past three years and played with the Winona LeJetz American Legion team last year.
