A Winona man is currently in custody on charges of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree after he allegedly sexually assaulted two women. The Winona County Sheriff’s Department referred charges against George Joseph Davis, 34, to the Winona County Attorney’s Office.

Investigator Kraig Glover said that on July 21, an adult female reported that Davis sexually assaulted and groped her. She also alleged, according to Glover, that Davis sexually assaulted an adult female with a mental illness. According to state statute, if convicted, Davis could face up to 30 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
