Park and Recreation staff are looking for certified basketball officials to work adult men’s basketball games. Officials will receive $22 per game (running time clock is about 50 minutes), and work two or three games per night. Leagues go from the last week of November, and end in mid-March. Organizers intend to offer two men’s divisions, with Division I/II combined playing on Monday nights and Division III on Thursdays. Officials must be certified through the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) or Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) in order to work any games. In Minnesota the required certification training is completely online. The MSHSL basketball online rules meeting and officials exam are available beginning on November 16 with a deadline date of November 21. You may receive reciprocity to officiate in both states by registering in one state or the other. If you are interested in working or subbing for adult basketball leagues, stop in the office or call 507-457-8258 and staff will get you the forms. Staff can also help new officials get certified.
