December 13

Winona County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Board of Supervisors will hold its regular monthly board meeting on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Winona County USDA Service Center, 400 Wilson Street North, Lewiston.

December 19

The Friends of the Winona Public Library monthly meetings are on every third Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Winona Public Library.

December 20

Harvest House will meet on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, for its annual Christmas party in the basement of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Mass will be at 1 p.m. The business meeting will follow mass. Please bring a wrapped gift for bingo. The group will be collecting a food item for a needy family. New members are welcome. The Widowed Persons Social Group’s events for November include breakfast every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Hy-Vee Cafe, and dinner every Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Ground Round. The Before Noon Widowed Group meets every Monday at 11 a.m. All widowed people are welcome. During the month of December the group will meet at Winona Family Restarant. For more information call 454-2765.

Pleasant Valley Church invites the community to attend its Tuesday night program, from 6-8 p.m., entitled Learning to Live, Learning to Love. It is free to the public and offers free childcare.

Al-Anon Family Group meets on Thursdays from 7-8 p.m. in the St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. This group is a 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. Call 452-4445 for more information.

Wholehearted Living with Diabetes is a monthly support group for people living with diabetes to actively engage in the “wholeness” of their life. Wholehearted Living with Diabetes is held on the second Wednesday of each month from 10-11:30 a.m. at Beno’s Deli, 78 East Fourth Street, Winona. The group is led by Jean Lauer. TOPS Minn. #263 Winona — New members are welcome! Learn how to lose weight  and keep it off. The group meets on Wednesdays. Weigh-in is between 8-8:50 a.m. and the meeting runs from 9-9:50 a.m. at Callista Court, 1455 West Broadway.

Addicted? Set Free! is a 12-week program to help members achieve victory over addicting behaviors. New members are welcome anytime. This group meets weekly at Calvary Baptist Church, 676 West Sarnia Street, Winona, at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings. For more information call 452-6850.

Caregiver Support Group for Adults Age 55 and Better This group provides an opportunity to meet with other caregivers to exchange helpful tips, give and receive support, as well as learn about new resources. The group meets on the first Wednesday of each month from 2-3 p.m. Meetings will be held at the Legacies Building in the conference room at 51 West Fourth Street. Peer Support Network (PSN) is open seven days per week. The hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4 to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. PSN is located at 122 West Second Street in Winona.

The Ribbon Warriors cancer support group meets at Callista Court, 1455 West Broadway, every third Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. This is a group of women who celebrate that they have had cancer and are beating it. Ribbon Warriors is open to any woman who has been diagnosed with cancer and would like to join. If you have any questions you may call Diane Passehl at 507-452-2679.

Military Order of the Purple Heart meets the first Wednesday of the month at the Winona VFW Post, 208 East Third Street, Winona, at 7 p.m. Those who are or know a combat wounded veteran may join. Membership is free and the group will keep you informed and help you navigate the Veterans Administration.

Al-Anon and AA meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1717 Service Drive, Winona.

The Winona Area Bariatric Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1717 Service Drive, Winona.

Dual Recovery Anonymous, an open support group for adults with mental illness and substance abuse issues, meets every Saturday, from 1-2 p.m. at Peer Support Network, 122 West Second Street, Winona.

Winona International Dancers meets every Monday from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Valencia Center, 1164 West 10th Street (entrance off Vila Street). This is a fun group of adults of all ages who gather weekly to share their love of ethnic dancing. Participants support and encourage one another on the road to Christ-centered recovery from hurts, habits or hang-ups. The evening includes worship, message, and small groups.
