It’s an important, long-debated and not easily-answered question: when is a person really biologically dead? You’ve likely heard a story or two of someone who was declared “dead,” but came back to life, and it can be hard to make sense of it all, or to understand what the implications are for you personally.
Coming to Winona to help shed some light on this difficult topic is Dr. Paul A. Byrne, a neurologist, international speaker, and president of the nonprofit Life Guardian Foundation. Dr. Byrne founded the field of neonatology, invented the premie ICU, and organized the 2009 Signs of Life Conference in Rome. He will speak about end-of-life issues, true death, and organ donation on Thursday, January 25, at 7 p.m., on the upper level of The Oaks Wine Bar, 75 West Third Street, Winona.
