Reminder: Winter decoration removal
As spring approaches, the winter decoration removal date is quickly drawing near at St. Mary’s Cemetery of Winona. All winter decorations must be removed from the cemetery by March 18. Organizers are unable to store decorations for you, so please be sure to remove them if you do not want them disposed of. Spring decorations placed in urns or shepherd hooks may be placed on or after Good Friday, March 30. Memorial Day decorations that are not in urns or on shepherd hooks may be placed on the ground beginning on May 13 but must be removed by June 3. Again, any remaining winter decorations left beyond March 18, and any Memorial Day decorations left on the ground outside May 13 to June 3 will be disposed of by cemetery staff.
St. Mary’s Cemetery is again using a professional grower for its flower program. If you do not currently own a flower stand with a 14” clay urn, you may purchase the set filled with three geraniums, one Iboza vine, one spring rye, and one spike for $206.16. For existing urn owners, the current price to refill with flowers is $63.35. There was no price increase for the flowers from last year. Flowers will be placed throughout the cemetery the week prior to Memorial Day. For your convenience, the cemetery does accept credit cards for payments.
Order forms for flowers will be located either on your church’s bulletin board or near the entrance around April 15. If you prefer, feel free to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 507-452-2769 and organizers will be happy to send you a form to complete.
