Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota will be offering a workshop series, Powerful Tools for Caregivers, beginning on July 9. It will run for six consecutive Mondays through August 13.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a relative or friend. You will benefit from this class whether you are helping a parent; spouse; friend; someone who lives at home, nursing home, or across the country. The program will help participants reduce stress; communicate more effectively; take care of themselves; reduce guilt, anger and depression; help them relax as well as make tough decisions; and much more.
During the six-week session, participants receive support from trained leaders and other workshop participants. The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program will provide tools and strategies to better handle unique caregiver challenges. Participants also benefit from meeting other people with similar challenges and learning how they cope.
The workshop is sponsored by Active Aging Programs at Catholic Charities and by the host, Sugar Loaf Senior Living. The group will meet on Mondays from 6-8 p.m. at Sugar Loaf Senior Living from July 9 to August 13. There is no charge for this workshop but space is limited, so register today!
