Chad Carlson, a 1986 graduate of Lewiston High School, will speak at the July 1 worship service at the Lewiston Church of the Brethren at 10 a.m. Carlson spent the last 25 years working for a medical device manufacturer but has now turned to writing. His first work is an adolescent novel with Christian themes, “Jesus Freak.”
The impetus for the book came from Carlson’s three daughters who wanted to read Christian literature but weren’t satisfied with what was available. Carlson wrote the book a chapter at a time, each chapter providing content for family discussions.
Carlson will share his faith story and how his walk with Christ brought him to write the book. There will be books available for purchase and time to talk further with Carlson after the service.
Carlson and his family live in Princeton, Minn.
The Church of the Brethren is located two miles southeast of Lewiston on County Road 25. All are welcome.
