The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) in Winona will be hosting the 12th annual free summer Family Fest on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Family Fest is a chance for families to explore and engage at Minnesota Marine Art Museum free of charge. This event encourages families with children of all ages to take advantage of a variety of activities and experiences indoors and out. Featured will be art-making projects inspired by MMAM’s collections and exhibitions, fishing on the Mississippi River with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, family-friendly gallery tours, face painting, sidewalk chalk, bubbles and more. A hot dog, veggie dog or bratwurst lunch and snowcones will be available for purchase. A discount of $20 will be taken off all family memberships purchased during the fest. The event will occur rain or shine.
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum believes that art is for everyone and aims to make its historic collections and exhibitions, featuring works by artists such as Monet, Picasso and O’Keeffe as well as contemporary artists, accessible to all.
In its 12th year of operation as a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization owned by its members, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum’s mission is to engage visitors in meaningful visual arts experiences through education and exhibitions that explore the ongoing and historic human relationship with water.
