Hi-Crush Partners LP (NYSE: HCLP), or Hi-Crush, announced it is donating $125,000 to the Whitehall-Town of Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) to upgrade the self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA) worn by the department’s firefighters when responding to fires and other emergencies.
“A volunteer fire department cannot fund new, essential gear as fast as it wears out or expires,” said Whitehall-Town of Lincoln VFD Chief Jeremiah Pientok. “This new SCBA equipment meets National Fire Protection Association standards and will allow us to better assess scenes and shorten our reaction times, improving the safety of our firefighters and our community. We greatly appreciate the donation provided by Hi-Crush, which will directly impact our ability to save lives and property.”
“The safety of our workers and communities is the highest priority at Hi-Crush,” said Robert Cox, manager of Hi-Crush’s Whitehall operations. “Helping first responders, such as volunteers of the local fire department, is an important part of our local engagement philosophy. We are honored to be able to better protect those who risk their lives to safeguard the residents of our community.”
