Second-grade readers reach 1,000-minute goal for second quarter


Twenty-seven Cochrane-Fountain City (C-FC) second graders met their second-quarter reading goal of reading 1,000 additional minutes at home. Second graders are asked to read extra minutes at home each quarter as part of a reading incentive program. The quarter began on November 5, 2018, and continued through January 16, 2019. Children who met their goal were rewarded with a special C-FC Pirate reading pin and an award signed by their teachers. After the awards ceremony a Reading Pajama Party has had, and kids were able to cuddle up with a blanket, stuffed animal, and book just to enjoy some additional free reading time.
