Ceramics exhibit at Watkins Hall

Xilam Bilam Ybarra is an interdisciplinary artist and one of six artists participating in the McKnight Ceramics Exhibition currently on view in the Watkins Gallery. Ybarra’s work in the exhibition includes several beautifully crafted contemporary Meso-American clay flutes, along with a mask that references Mexica and Maya glyphs. The artist’s Xicano identity is at the center of all his art forms.

Come to the art and design department of WSU, Stark Hall, room 103, to hear this artist speak about his work on Tuesday, February 5, at 5 p.m. A reception at the Watkins Gallery with light refreshments from 6-7 p.m. with the artist will follow his talk.
