The sixth annual Winona Fire 5/10k Run/Walk will be on Saturday, April 27, at 9 a.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit Every Child’s Dream –Winona, sponsored by the Winona Lions clubs.
Pre-registration is $25 per person, if received by April 25 ($10 for children aged 17 and under), and packet pickup is available at the Fire Station at 451 East Third Street from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, April 26, and on race day at the Lions Shelter Gepner Pavilion from 7:30-8:45 a.m.
Race-day registration is $30 per person ($15 for children 17 and under). Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on race day at the Lions Shelter Gepner Pavilion at East Lake Park in Winona.
The 5k run/walk is an “out and back,” beginning at the Gepner Pavilion. The course is mostly flat and fast. The 10k course is a single loop around both lakes, along with an additional section, and will begin and end at the pavilion.
Awards are given for Overall Male and Female for both the 5k and 10k, and then for the top three winners (both male and female) in the age groups for the 5k only. Age groups: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-34, 35-49, 50-64, and 65-plus.
