Winona State University Director of Athletics Eric Schoh has announced the hiring of Tiffanie Yabut to lead the Warrior women’s golf team. Yabut will assume the head-coaching role immediately in preparation of the 2019-2020 season.
A native of Omaha, Neb., Yabut attended Missouri Western State University, where she graduated with Cum Laude honors while playing on the women’s golf team. In addition to her duties as a golf student-athlete, Yabut was a board member on the Student-athlete Advisory Committee.
“We’re very excited to welcome Tiffanie to Winona State,” Schoh commented. “She brings a great level of positivity and leadership, which is backed by years of experience in competing at a high level. I know she can’t wait to get started with the team and share her passion of serving others through the game of golf.”
In 2016 at Missouri Western, Yabut’s birdie putt secured a playoff round in the Super Regional where the Griffons went on to win and advance to the team’s first-ever National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) National Championship tournament. She was the team captain as a senior in 2017-2018 and named the Women’s Golf Student-athlete of the Year.
Yabut was a 2015 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Honorable Mention selection and in her career, earned seven top-25 finishes, one top-10 finish and a runner-up finish. Yabut was a member of three Griffon teams to advance to the NCAA Super Regional.
