Rolling to the Refuge

Saturday, June 22, at 10 a.m.

Join Steve for a leisurely morning bicycle ride along the Great River State Trail.
The group will depart from the Nature Center and head two miles north to the Trempealeau Wildlife Refuge. Riders are free to turn around whenever they choose. A water bottle, sunglasses, and insect repellent are recommended, and helmets are encouraged.

Mighty Mound Builders

Saturday, June 22, at 3-4 p.m.

Explore the pre-historic people known as the Mound Builders by beginning with a short video. Afterwards, take a short walk to nearby conical and effigy mounds.

Life on the River

Saturday, June 22, at 7 p.m.

Meet commercial fisherman George Richtman, born and raised on the riverbanks. Richtman is a true River Rat and has some entertaining stories to share about life on the river. He will have his boat, nets, and other equipment on display. This is a great program for people of all ages.

All park programs are free and meet at the Nature Center unless an alternate location is specifically mentioned. State Park vehicle admission stickers are required.
