Dennis Cleveland retirement open house Dec. 30

Dennis L. Cleveland, President of Winona National Bank, has announced his retirement as of December 31, 2003, after a 37-year career in banking and financial services.

Mr. Cleveland has been president of Winona National for the past two years, and he was a key figure in the merger of Town & Country State Bank and Winona National in 2001. He had been president of Town & Country for 23 years prior to assuming the same role at WNB. His primary responsibilities include assisting CEO Jack Richter in the management of Winona National and overseeing the bank's loan activities.

In addition to his banking career, Mr. Cleveland served as a prominent community leader in Winona. He is past president of the Winona Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Westfield Golf Club, and the American Cancer Society. He was a member of the Board of Adjustments for the City of Winona, chaired various building committees for the Winona School District, and has served on numerous other committees throughout his career.

Mr. Cleveland is also past president of the District 1 Minnesota Bankers Association and a past member of the Board of the statewide Minnesota Bankers Association.

Mr. Cleveland began his banking career in 1968, joining Merchants National Bank in Winona.

He joined Town & Country State Bank of Winona in 1978 as president, building it into a strong community bank before the merger with Winona National and Savings Bank in 2001. He is a native of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota, North Dakota State University and numerous banking schools.

In retirement, Mr. Cleveland will spend time with his wife, Karen, and his three daughters and four grandchildren.

An Open House is scheduled at Winona National's West Office, 1491 West Broadway, on Tuesday, December 30, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
