Project FINE has been selected as a beneficiary for the month of February for the Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local nonprofits. The Hy-Vee Reusable Bag Program, which launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities in which customers live and work. Project FINE was selected as the February beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Winona Hy-Vee. Project FINE will receive a $1 donation every time a $2.50 red My Heart Reusable Bag is purchased at this location during February, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the giving tag attached to the bag.
“We are honored to be chosen for this program,” said Fatima Said, executive director of Project FINE. “We are grateful for the support of Winona Hy-Vee and the funds raised will help us pursue our vision of creating a welcoming and respectful community.”
Project FINE (Focus on Integrating Newcomers through Education) is a nonprofit organization that has been serving Winona County and the surrounding area since 1990. It is a connection point for refugees and immigrants, helping build contributing individuals, healthy families, and a stronger, more respectful community for all.
