Immanuel Lutheran-Silo presents all-school operetta

On Friday, March 15, Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Lewiston will present “Danny & the Shacks,” a Biblically based musical written by Christy Semsen with music arranged by Daniel Semsen. The public is invited to this “won’t bend, won’t bow, won’t burn” Babylonian epic.

Watch Daniel (of lion’s den fame) and his friends the Shacks (better known as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego) embark on a thrill ride of adventures as they encounter King Neb and his golden statue, some crazy Babylonians, the fiery furnace and, of course, the lion’s den. Through it all, God’s faithfulness and enduring promise to be with people at all times is proclaimed.

Modern music arranged in a variety of styles including Latin cha-cha, boogie-woogie and rap will keep your toes tapping. The entire school from pre-school through eighth grade will be performing this musical in the new gymnasium.

Performances are at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
