The Warriors looked strong in set one Friday, November 15, as they battled it out against St. Cloud State, but could not come through in the next three sets.
Winona State fell short being defeated by the Huskies by scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-22 and 25-20.
On Saturday, November 16, Winona State concluded its final regular game with a sweep against University of Minnesota Duluth.
The Warriors completed their perfect sweep by set scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-23.
Following the weekend, Winona State finished their season 21-7 overall and 13-7 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
For the Warriors, junior Megan Flom and junior Kate Masberg led the way this weekend with 24 and 12 kills respectively over both games.
Junior Bre Maloney was on her game this weekend by assisting her teammates 80 times throughout both matches.
On the defensive side of things this weekend for Winona State, both Flom and sophomore Madison Rizner shut things down with nine blocks. Junior Becca Pagel contributed, recording 38 digs.
Winona State has officially ended the regular season and will go on to play in the NSIC tournament. They face Concordia University, St. Paul, in the first round on Friday, November 22, at 2:30 p.m.
