Kelly Robert Rygmyr, Colorado Springs, Colo, died December 20, 2006. He was born in Winona.
He was a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, was a former member of the Army National Guard, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Kelly pursued a successful career in plastics engineering, working for Empak of Minneapolis, then as a senior process engineer for Entegris of Colorado Springs.
He was an avid football and racing fan and was most passionate about music, especially the Grateful Dead. He loved the guitar, as a musician and collector.
He is survived by his father, Gene Rygmyr, and Helen Rygmyr of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sisters, Tacy Rygmyr Mangan and Katie Rygmyr, both of Minneapolis; a brother, Lance Rygmyr, of Atlanta; three nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara McHugh Rygmyr, and his grandparents, George and Selma Rygmyr and Katherine and Robert Bluhm.
We will miss his Irish sense of humor and Scandinavian sense of independence.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 4, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colorado Springs.
