Lloyd A. Brabbit Jr., age 80, of Winona, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona.
Lloyd was born on September 26, 1928, in Winona, the son of Lloyd and Gladys (Bresaw) Brabbit Sr. He married Jean Ellis on December 24, 1950, in Milwaukee, and they later divorced.
He was employed by Fiberite, the Milwaukee Railroad, and American Motors. Lloyd will be remembered for his love of animals and trains; and he also enjoyed spending time boating on the Mississippi River.
Lloyd is lovingly survived by his children: Larry (Deb) Brabbit, Lewiston, MN, Tim Brabbit, Red Wing, MN, Bruce Brabbit, Green Bay, WI, Glenn (Carol) Brabbit, Winona, Becky Brabbit, Green Bay, WI, Andy (Inger) Brabbit, Winona, Jeff (Heidi) Brabbit, Green Bay, WI, Eric Brabbit, Winona, and Mary (Rick) Bahn, Minneapolis, MN, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sisters: Jean Eide and June Kohner, both of Winona, as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, and three brothers, Irvin, Joe, and Clarence.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 19, 2008, at Faith Lutheran Church, Winona. The Reverend Mark Dumke officiated.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Larry Brabbit Jr.; Brian Brabbit; Dustin Brabbit; Chad Brabbit; Mike Kohner; and Ben Hinnenkamp.
Lloyd’s family would like to thank all of his family and friends that visited him while he was at St. Anne’s – dad was so happy to see everyone.
