Margaret V. Rieger, age 80, of Winona, MN, died on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Lake Winona Manor.
Margaret was born on November 14, 1930, in Winona, MN, to August and Anna Margaret (Koenig) Rieger.
She graduated from Cathedral High School in Winona. For over 46 years, she worked at Schueler Candy Company, which was later called Brock Candy Company.
In 2003, she suffered a severe stroke, and when she couldn’t do her crossword puzzles anymore, she changed to word seek puzzles. She loved to watch the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Twins on TV.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Delores Rieger, Winona, MN; brother-in-law, Julian Hamerski, Holmen, WI; nephew, Anthony (Tony) Hamerski, McLoud, OK; nieces, Julann Terry, Oklahoma City, OK, Patrice and Mary Beth Hamerski, Trempealeau, WI, Francine Hamerski, Savoy, IL, and Suzann Hamerski, Watseka, IL; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Eugene Rieger; and sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Hamerski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 2:30 PM, on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
The Reverend Richard Colletti will officiate.
Margaret will be laid to rest in the spring at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Wilson.
Visitation will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church, on Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 1:30 PM until the time of the Mass.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
