Carol Jean Wener, 70, of Dodge, died Monday, December 21, 2015, at her home.

Carol was born January 9, 1945, in Grafton, N.D., to John and Marion (Lilla) Grzadzielewski. When she was young, she moved with her family to Dodge, where she spent the remainder of her life. She graduated from Arcadia High School and went on to attend St. Francis School of Nursing where she graduated as an RN. On May 8, 1971, Carol married Joseph Wener and they made their home on his family farm in rural Dodge. She worked at St. Francis Hospital for five years. After her two children were older, she began working part time at the Dodge Post Office, where she worked for 18 years.

Carol loved to read, do crossword puzzles, go shopping and was a great cook. Her biggest pride and joy were her family and she loved every minute she was able to spend with her two granddaughters.

Carol is survived by her husband, Joe; two children, Joel (Jolayne) Wener of Pepin, Wis., and Kara Wener of Dodge; two granddaughters, Bryttany and Karlie Wener; two brothers, John “Butch” (Ginny) Grzadzielewski Jr. of Trempealeau, and Patrick “Bubbles” (Judy) Grzadzielewski of Arcadia; brother-in-law, Richard Jereczek; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Erpelding and Teresa Wener; two godchildren, Josh Grzadzielewski and Kim Jereczek; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Jereczek; and brother-in-law, Frank Erpelding.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 24, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, Wis., with the Reverend Sebastian Kolodziejczyk and Reverend William Kulas concelebrating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview and one hour prior to the Mass at church.

Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview is assisting the family with arrangements.
