Walter F. Holzworth, age 85, of Winona, died on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Gundersen Health Systems, La Crosse, Wis.
Walter was born on November 25, 1931, in Winona, Minn., to Fred and Dorothy (Wilkins) Holzworth. On December 3, 1955, he married Maurine Lockwood at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Winona. He was employed as a milkman in the dairy business for 37 years, working for Land-O-Lakes and was the owner of H & L Dairy for 27 years. He also was employed at Motor Parts, of Winona, for 17 years.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine; three sons, Curtis (Dale) Holzworth, Fountain City, Wis., Scott Holzworth, Winona, and Rod (Kathy) Holzworth, Winona; four granddaughters, Trisha (Joey) Schneider, Lindsey (Alyssa) Holzworth, Megan Holzworth and Nicole Holzworth; three great-grandchildren, Brenden Landsman, Ariana Schneider and Lucia Holzworth; a brother, John Holzworth, Winona; a sister, Jeanette (Bernard) Pruka, Winona; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roy Holzworth; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Holzworth.
Funeral service for Walter will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Winona, with Rev. Matthew Schoell officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona, and on Friday at the church beginning at 10 a.m.
