Beverly Janet Pruka, 79, of Winona, Minn., died on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. Beverly was born on February 14, 1939, in Pickwick, to Harold and Sylvia (Woodard) Albrecht. She grew up around the Winona area and met Robert Pruka. The two of them loved to go out to dinner and dancing all around the county. Witoka Dance Hall was always a favorite. They were married on June 8, 1957, in Stockton.
Beverly was an entertainer at heart. She loved every chance she had to host her friends and family. There was always more than enough food for anyone and everyone that wanted to join the family for dinner. Her motto was, “If you leave hungry, it’s your fault.” She was truly a caring soul. Family was everything to her. Beverly had a feisty side as well. She wasn’t afraid to stand her ground when needed. Beverly was a hard worker as well which is modeled by her 33 years at Fibrite. Bob and Beverly were members of the Eagles Club. Beverly was known for being the lucky one when it came to gambling. She especially enjoyed pull tabs and picking numbers for football games.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband of nearly 61 years, Robert; children, Steve Pruka, Sherry (Dan) French, Scott (Ann) Pruka, David Pruka; grandchildren, Brian, Adam, Shannon, Kelly, Heather, Danielle, Jessie, Heather, Brett; 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Elton (Marlene) Albrecht, Elaine (Bob) Langowski, Arlene Groth, Gordon (Noreen) Albrecht, Ardel Pagel, Barbara Kamrowski, Judy (John) Frauenkron, Mary (John) Comero, Carol Mueller, Roger Albrecht. She was preceded in death by her brother, Darrel; and an infant sister, Shirley.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 6, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday. Interment will be in Pickwick Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Gundersen Critical Care Unit for their wonderful care and compassion.
