Jeffery Lee Fortsch, 52, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Winona Health. Jeff was born on October 20, 1965, in Wabasha, to Allen and Claudette (Moine) Fortsch. Their family settled on a farm outside Lewiston. Growing up, Jeff helped out working on the farm before working at Lewiston Auto while in high school. After high school Jeff took a job at Bay State Milling where he was still currently working. Jeff met Teresa Prigge while she was living with Jeff’s sister. They were married on September 24, 1993, and had three wonderful children, Jordan, Marah, and Jade. Jeff was very active in his community by joining many committees through the years. He was a dedicated member of the Lewiston Fire Department. Jeff was always known for keeping the party going. He loved having a good time with his family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Teresa; children, Jordan, Marah (Tyler Collins), Jade; mother, Claudette; siblings, Allen Jr. (Gloria), Alanna (Todd) Kieffer, Jim, Charla (Brian) Vick, Carolee (Roger) Bronk, Jerry, Jana (Terry) Prigge, Chad (Chris); parents-in-law, Willard and Joanne Prigge; siblings-in-law, Torrey (Heather), Tracy (Kirk) Shipler, Trevor (Terri), Tammy (Jason) Kreidermacher, Tom (Michelle); and many nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Allen Sr.; and grandparents, Harry and Lu Tweed, Harold and Alice Fortsch, and Eugene Moine.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Lewiston, with the Reverend Martin Schaefer officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 23, and one hour prior to Mass, all at the church. Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service – Lewiston is assisting the family with arrangements.
