Rebecca Jean McDonald (Baures), born on April 18, 1958, moved on to her next adventure on July 19, 2018.
Becky had an extraordinarily giving and generous character, which showed through her calling as a nurse and an open-door policy at home (making her house the “Island of Misfit Toys” during the holidays). She relished the role of matriarch in the family and acted as more of a grandmother and great-grandmother to her youngest great-nieces and -nephews. Her loyal friendship, irreverent sense of humor, advice, and the sound of her voice, and her presence will be sincerely missed.
Becky is survived by her husband, David McDonald; children, Andy (Angel) McDonald, Christa McDonald, and Dain McDonald; grandson, Kellan McDonald; brother, Butch (Barbara) Baures; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Cecilia Baures; her siblings, Curt Rinn, Janice (Roger) Glenna, and Maryanne Gallas; her mother- and father-in-law, Luke and Etta Rowan; and beloved friend, Craig Christianson.
A service will be held to celebrate her life on July 25, 2018, at Central Lutheran Church in Winona, Minn., at 4 p.m. with visitation at 3 p.m., and a gathering to follow.
Services entrusted to Fawcett Junker Funeral Home & Crematory, Winona, Minn., and Fountain City, Wis. Words of remembrance may be given at www.fawcettjunker.com.
