On Saturday, November 17, 2018, Richard Lee Mueller (Dick), loving brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the age of 88.
Dick was born on July 26, 1930, in Winona, Minn., to Henry and Myrtle (Sines) Mueller. He graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1948. He worked for the Winona Daily News for many years, after which he worked for the Winona Printing Company where he eventually retired. Dick happily lived in the same home where he grew up and ultimately cared for his mother and father their entire lives.
He was lovingly known to many as Uncle Dick, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Dick was always ready to spend the day hunting or fishing with you whenever you would ask him. He loved his coffee and loved even more when you shared a cup with him. Dick loved spending holidays and special occasions with his family. His dog, Buddy, was his favorite companion and was always by his side. He loved cheering on all Minnesota sports teams. Dick was known for his constant kindness, compassion, and generosity. He enjoyed sharing with the people he loved, and he always gave willingly and expected nothing in return.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle; sister, Beverly Brunberg; and brother-in-law, Jim Brunberg. He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Virginia) Mueller; nieces and nephews, Pamela (Craig) Spear and their children Adam (Lynn) and Tyler, Jeffrey (Christine) Mueller and their children Eric and Claire, and Sandra (Brian) Ernst and their children Austin, Connor, Noah, and Lyndsey; along with niece and nephews, Debra Jackson, Rick Brunberg, and Greg Brunberg; and many cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, at 11:30 a.m. with a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. Fellowship and food will follow.
