Ramona L. English, 88, lifelong resident of Winona, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare.
Ramona was born on August 18, 1930, to Elmer and Luella (Heublein) Ladewig. She worked as a waitress at Wally’s Restaurant in Fountain City, Wis. She made many good friends there. Later, Ramona worked on the family farm. She liked to work and was very proud of being a good fencer.
Ramona married Henry Jezewski, who died in 1989. She married Bud English on February 23, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nev. In retirement, Bud and Ramona travelled extensively. Ramona enjoyed their travels. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She looked forward to family get-togethers and being surrounded by family.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Bud; his children, Brian English, Leane (David) Cerven, Ellyn (Brad) Turner and Erin English; grandchildren, Marelle and Bennet Cerven, Eric and Brett English; sister-in-law, Lois LadEwig; nieces and nephews, Leslie Ladewig, Nancy Fritz, Larry Ladewig, LeAnne Morey, Lance Ladewig; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and good friend, Mary Mueller.
Ramona was preceded in death by parents; first husband, Henry; and brothers, Lester, Elmer and Lyle Ladewig.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at 12 p.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Stockton.
