Timm, Allen

(1/25/2019)

Allen Timm, 77, of St. Charles went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 21, with his family by his side.

He was born on July 29, 1941, on a farm north of Utica to Henry and Esther Timm. He attended Utica grade school and then attended high school in St. Charles and Lewiston. In 1961, Al married Dixie Horsman of Chatfield, Minn., and they were later divorced. In 1972, Al married Janice “Jan” Burdick.

Al farmed until 1967 when he became a service manager at J. C. Penney Auto Center in Winona for 11 years. In 1979 Al started Timm’s Auto Salvage in St. Charles. Over the years, he also worked as a salesman for Schultz Implement in St. Charles and as a salesman for John Deere Implement in St. Charles for 14 years. Al was the owner and operator of Timm’s Trikes, Inc., for 22 years until he retired.

Al worked hard and played hard! He had a love for anything mechanical. He enjoyed racing Arctic Cat Snowmobiles and owning, building and racing dirt track stock cars, go carts and garden tractors.

Al was a member of Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester, Minn. He was a member of Gideons International and hosted Saturday morning Gideon breakfasts for several years and also hosted Wednesday evening prayer meetings for many years.

Al was an honest, friendly man who went the extra mile to make sure whatever he did was done properly. He enjoyed the accomplishment of hard work and telling stories of his earlier years.

He is survived by his wife, Jan, of 47 years; four children, Darla (Scott) Busian of St. Charles, Terry Timm of Rochester, Tony (Dana) Timm of Fairmont, Minn., and Troy Timm of St. Charles; six grandchildren, Chad (Carla) Busian of Stewartville, Minn., Chase Busian of St. Charles, Aaron Timm of Mankato, Minn., Hailey Schafer of Chatfield, Sutton Timm of Fairmont and Avery Timm of Fairmont; two great-grandchildren, Easton Busian of Stewartville and Elliot Busian of St. Charles; a brother, Earl Timm of Utica; and a sister, Esther Evers of Spring Valley, Minn.
