Schott, LeRoy Robert ‘Bob’

(2/22/2019)

LeRoy Robert “Bob” Schott, 80, of rural Lewiston, died on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at his home on the family farm. Bob was born on the family farm to William and Izetta (Hislop) Schott on June 7, 1938. He and Phyllis Vorbeck were married on January 15, 1963, in Winona, and farmed the family farm their entire married lives. He was a dairy farmer and drove limestone truck for Schott Trucking. Bob was interested in tractors, having done repair work for many neighbors. He enjoyed stock-car racing, serving as mechanic for the team of Lee Rain Sr., Denny Schott and Daryl Erion. On the farm, Bob was the straw boss and supervisor. He made sure everyone kept on task with the daily duties he assigned them. Bob told everyone what they needed to get done, down to his last day.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; seven children, Jeremy (Tina) Schott of Lewiston, Jason (Carrie) Schott of St. Charles, Justin Schott of Lewiston, Jennifer (Adam) Krause of Fountain City, Wis., Jack (Leah) Schott of Lewiston, Jesse (Stephanie) Schott of St. Charles, and Joe (Tasha) Schott of Dover; 18 grandchildren, with another arriving soon; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Boo; a grandson, Colton; one sister, Lorraine Kulack; and two brothers, Bill and Richard Schott.

Services to celebrate Bob’s life will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, led by funeral celebrant Dianne Rislow. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lewisto Public Cemetery in the spring.
