Lee, Gracie (Loth)

(5/28/2019)

Gracie (Loth) Lee, 89, of Winona, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019, at her home in Winona with her family at her side following a six-year struggle with Alzheimer’s. Gracie, one of seven children, was born on July 1, 1929, in Winona, Minn., to Oscar and Helen Loth.

In 1945 she met the love of her life, Roger Lee, while setting pins at a Winona bowling alley and they were married on August 18, 1947. Together they enjoyed 71 years raising four children, Tom, Randy, Sherrie, and Doug. Gracie was a devoted wife and loving mother. She will be remembered by her beautiful blue eyes and loving smile, who always provided a warm and welcoming home to everyone. Her homemade meals and pies were special treats. “Our mother’s love was a gift from above. Although painful to see her depart, her love remains forever in our hearts.” Gracie now rests comfortably in the arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Gracie is survived by her children, Randy (Mary) Lee of Lewiston, Sherrie (Matthew) Mueller of Rochester, and Doug (Diana) Lee of Winona; daughter-in-law, Ann Lee; grandchildren, Matthew Lee, Joe Lee, Elizabeth Lee, Tommy Lee, Robert Mueller, Brittany Mueller Griffy, Danny Lee, and Michelle Lee; great-grandchildren, Hannah Lee, Brittney Lee, Grace Mueller, Johanna Mueller, Gene Davis Griffy IV, and Nolan Lee; her sister, Marilyn Polus; as well as nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Lee of Winona; parents, Oscar and Helen Loth; sisters, Stella Carroll, Viola Benicke, and Leona Glubka; brothers, Larry and Chuck Loth.

A very special thank you is extended to Mary Beth and the entire Winona Hospice team. They were a God-sent blessing to Gracie and the entire Lee family. They’re unselfish devotion, support, loving and caring spirit continuously warmed our hearts. May God bless them, their families and the continuation of such a valuable service to others.
