Jean Marie Fernholz-Friendt, 59, of Maplewood, Minn., and formerly of Arcadia, passed away on April 11, 2016, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jean was born on February 26, 1957, to Mark and Margaret (Pyka) Fernholz in Arcadia. She graduated from Arcadia Schools and University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Jean was employed at Land Title, Inc., in Roseville, Minn., for 24 years. On October 27, 2013, she married Andy Friendt in Stillwater, Minn.
Jean is survived by her husband, Andy; his son, Jason of Seattle, Wash.; his daughter, Somer (Chris) Kvale, and their children, Cash and Saylar. Jean is further survived by her sister, Nancy (La Verne) Haines, their children, Doug, Dale (Debbie), and their children, Lexi, Kelsey all of Arcadia; brother, Daniel (Barbara) of Arcadia, and their children, Jennifer (Glenn) Schick, and their children, Leila, Evan of Pontatac, Miss.; Randy (Jeni), and their children, Ryan, Elyse, Julia of New Richmond, Wis.; Kate (John) Nelson, and their children, Hillary, Payton, Jackson of Arcadia; Kim (Phil) Ehrat, and their children, Tyler, Trever, Tanner, TJ of Buffalo City; Russell (Jenny), and their daughter, Claire of Waumandee; and Danielle of Arcadia; sister-in-law, Dorothy Fernholz, and her son, Dave Jr. (Amanda Symitczek), and their children, Kenley, Kolton all of Arcadia. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, David.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May, 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, in Arcadia, with Rev. Sebastian Kolodziejczyk. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
