Edith A. Hess, 85, of Fountain City, Wis., died on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare.
Edith was born on November 23, 1931, in Kankakee, Ill. She graduated from Kankakee High School. On May 13, 1951, Edith married her high school sweetheart, Wayne E. Hess, in Kankakee, Ill.
Edith and Wayne purchased the Indian Creek Resort in 1968. They ran the resort for 22 years, retiring in 1990. Edith loved to fish and snowmobile. She was a talented crocheter – making afghans and baby blankets. Edith liked to play cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen; grandchildren, Michael, Bryan and Taylor; great-grandson, Owyn; furry, four-legged grandchildren, Baxter, Bailey, Bentley, Bogie, Benelli and Bristol.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne (2004); and a son and daughter in infancy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona. Carrie McGhee will be the celebrant. Honorary urn bearers will be her grandchildren, Michael, Bryan and Taylor.
