Helene Joan Johnson, age 85, of Galesville, died on Friday, December 28, 2018, at Marinuka Manor in Galesville.
Helene was born on May 27, 1933, to John and Inga (Saeter) Lowener.
Helene graduated from the Galesville High School. She married Donnie Johnson of Galesville on November 22, 1952. They were married for 61 years. They lived on the Lowener family farm in Abraham’s Coulee, rural Galesville. She moved to Marinuka Manor in 2013.
Helene was great homemaker. She enjoyed being a member of several card clubs, and the Merrymaker’s Homemaker Club and was a member of French Creek Lutheran Church. Helene loved to cook, bake, sew, shop, go to the casino, go out to eat, and to the movies. In her later years, she became a Milwaukee Brewer fan and played bingo. Her true joy was visiting with family and friends.
Survivors are her two sons, Wayne (Sheila) Johnson and Michael( Liz) Johnson; and one daughter, Lori (Randy); five grandsons, Jason, Brad, and Jeffrey Johnson, David and Matt Nastvold; three granddaughters, Nicole Biondo, Stacy, and Melanie Johnson. She was blessed with 13 great grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, Helene was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie; and her two sisters, Lois Wheeler and Virginia Ekern. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at French Creek Lutheran Church with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service.
