Michael Allen Overing, 73, of Cochrane and formerly of Winona, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at his home after a three-year battle with esophageal cancer.
Mike was born on February 14, 1946, in Winona, to John and Dorothy (Holz) Overing. On November 16, 1968, he married the love of his life, Judith Cada, in Winona. Mike worked at Standard Foundry, W&C Printing, and eventually retired from Thern, Inc.
Mike was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed mowing his lawn with his green and gold lawn mower. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, camping, and going on walks with his dog, Moose.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; two children, Sherry (Rob) Kowaleski and Michael Overing; four grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Odum, Tyler (Emma) Kowaleski, Nicole Donahue, and Michael Donahue; great-grandson, Conrad Odum; three sisters, Sue (Joel) Thompson, Jini (David) Stoeckly, and Fran (Denny) Grandl; mother-in-law, Lillian Cada; and many nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Donahue; and father-in-law, Harold Cada.
A celebration of his life will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview. Please come as you are; Mike would want you to be casual.
