Sylvia L. Passehl, 83, of Winona, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019, at Lake Winona Manor, Winona, Minn.
Sylvia Lee was born on May 24, 1936, in Winona, Minn., to K. Fred and Alta (Warrington) Reifsteck. She graduated from Winona Senior High School on June 4, 1954, and on June 19, was married to Irving Passehl in Ridgeway, Minn. Together they raised their seven children. Sylvia helped her husband on the farm and was the bookkeeper for their businesses: Passehl Trucking and Passehl Salvage. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2012. Sylvia enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and in the early years, sewed the children’s clothes.
She is survived by her children, Keith (Diane) Passehl, Arlin Passehl, Kevin (Kelly) Passehl, Kathryn (Darwin) Burt, Colleen (Ryan) Bateman, Luann (Bill) Heublein, and Carroll (Cindy) Passehl; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Esther Pittelko, Patricia Morris, and Shirley (Judd) Morgan; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons, Ryan Merchlewitz and Oscar Donahue; and two sisters, Miriam Harney and Violet Brunner.
Her funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at Fawcett Junker Funeral Home, Winona. Interment will be at Witoka Cemetery, Witoka, Minn.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The casket bearers will be the grandsons.
