From: Cindy Westby and Holiday Lighted committee
Unfortunately, a winter storm struck Winona December 1, and forced us to cancel the Holiday Lighted Parade in Goodview. I think Goodview was not supposed to have a parade this year as we also had to cancel the Goodview Days Parade in August because of flooding.
We would personally like to thank everyone who worked so hard on planning the parade. We had forty entries this year. We know each unit had a lot of money, time and energy invested. Also big thanks to Merchants Bank with their involvement in the Ten Days of Giving. A big thanks also to the Goodview Activity Group for offering to donate fireworks and extra help, as well as the city. Again, we are not able to thank everyone by name but please know we appreciate everyone's efforts. We were honored to accept a check from the Goodview Activity Group for $1,000. That, along with other cash donations, we were able to give a nice cash donation to support the Ten Days of Giving for the Winona Food Shelf.
Plans are already underway for the next year's parade which will be held in Goodview. At this time we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and thanks for making Winona one of the best communities to live in.
