Riverway Learning Community
The Secondary I group would like to thank everyone from the community that attended our economics bazaar on November 24th. The bazaar was a lot like a craft fair. Students each made their own product to sell. Each student’s item had to be a homemade original item. During the time before the bazaar students were busy making their products. Students did a lot of shopping in town to see how much the materials would cost. Some of the things that were sold included jewelry, bird houses, washcloths, hats, baked goods, and more. To advertise the bazaar two students went on the radio three different times to talk about it. We also hung fliers around town. All the students were responsible for their own booths. With the money from the bazaar and other fundraisers, we hope to take a class trip to one of the student’s family owned resorts in the mountains of Colorado. In Colorado we will be doing things like fishing, hiking, swimming, and learning about the mountains and the area in general. We made around $150.00. All of the money will go to the Colorado trip.
