In addition to plenty of food and fresh open water, all animals, especially domestic animals, need adequate shelter from wind, rain, snow and the bone-chilling cold we have here in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This recent snowstorm is just the start of the freezing season in our area! Larger animals need a 3 or 4-sided, roofed shed/barn to help them retain body heat and protect against wind chill. Without protection of shelter against the winter elements, animals could suffer a dangerous condition called hypothermia and freeze. We wouldn’t want that on our conscience! Let’s keep our pets and animals healthy and happier by treating them humanely.
During December, I’ll give anyone in need a half bale of hay for pet bedding. Call 507-454-3305 and leave a message.
