From: Cathy Snyder and the Cotter High School Show Choir
The Cotter High School Show Choir would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the Winona and area communities for supporting our recent recycling fundraiser! Approximately 300+ families used our “Cotter Show Choir Goes Green” campaign to recycle outdated household appliances, televisions, air conditioners, computers and many, many other types of technological and electronic equipment. We recycled over 36,000 pounds of waste material that will no longer affect our environment. As this was our fourth annual “Go Green” campaign, we can feel good that, with your help, we have collected over 160,000 pounds of materials that will not contaminate our landfills. We are also grateful to those who used our pick-up service again this year. It is very gratifying to know we were able to help some households get rid of items that they might not otherwise have been able to bring to a recycling center for disposal.
We are grateful for the generous support from our local sponsors: Winona National Bank, Merchants Bank, Winona Radio. Also, Hy-Vee, Kwik Trip, Miller Felpax, Kuehner Law Office, Rivers Hotel Group, RTP, Borkowski Towing and Salvage, and Winona Elks Lodge. We are especially grateful to Miller Scrap for partnering with us in providing this opportunity to the Winona community and area communities. Miller’s continued partnership with us, and our sponsors, is just another wonderful example of these local companies giving back to Winona, giving back to the youth of Winona.
The Show Choir has been performing at various events in the community during this holiday season. Each time we go out to perform we are reminded of the great community we live in! Thank you again to those who supported our “Go Green” and thank you for helping our community “go green”. Hope to see you again next year. Merry Christmas and all the best of the holiday season to you.
