The Winona Noon Lions celebrated Christmas morning by serving dinner to approximately 140 people in the charming First Congregational parish hall. This dinner, which is a longstanding tradition of the Noon Lions offers folks a warm hearty holiday atmosphere and a great meal for that may have been home alone for Christmas. The Lions not only served dinner but they arranged for transportation to and from the dinner to those not able to drive. Also because of the snow and slippery conditions, many people elected to stay safely in their homes. As a result, the Lions delivered approximately 80 dinners to these individuals homes. The Winona Noon Lions would like to thank the many volunteers that assisted us in serving and delivery, as well as, to the many people who came and enjoyed our hospitality.
A special thank you goes to the First Congragational Church for the use of their facilities and Lions John Rethlefsen and Darrell Monson. Lion John coordinated the event and directed the serving and clean-up and Lion Darrell coordinated the delivery of meals and transportation of guests to the dinner and home again.
