For years I will pass on the legend about a great man that went to jail 27 years for standing up and fighting for the freedom of his people in an apartheid government. After his trial, he thought he was going to be hanged; instead he was given a life sentence. This great man was let out of jail at the age of 70 and he was voted in as the first democratic president in his country; and forgave all the people that wronged him. It is said, by forgiving all his jailers, Nelson Mandela saved his country from a blood bath; he was truly a patriot. When he passed, leaders from all over the world attended his funeral; it is so fitting that the first black president in America, Barack Obama, delivered a tribute to the first black president in South Africa.
