Danyka’s first Christmas poem

(12/27/2016)

From: Dianne Berndt-Connors

When winter’s first snowflakes fall,

it is a pretty sight to behold.

Glistening icicles in the lights,

and the snowmen, oh so cold.

There are many twinkling lights

and beautiful ornaments on the tree.

Such a wondrous Christmas sight,

that everyone loves to see.

The house is all decorated,

Mommy’s Christmas cookies are done.

Everyone is dressed in festive colors,

and you are the cutest one.

Presents are underneath the tree,

wrapped in pretty paper with care.

Maybe a little sweater for Danyka,

or perhaps a teddy bear.

Ryan will peak at all the presents,

and then giggle with glee.

He will whisper to himself,

“that big one is for me.”

Santa’s sled pulled by reindeer,

is loaded with gifts galore.

They visit each home with children

and always seem to have more.

When you are asleep Christmas Eve,

Santa Claus there soon will be.

Daddy will put cookies on the table,

for him to surely see.

All will be very quiet,

but you know Santa has been there.

He will leave toys and games,

for you and Ryan to share.

It has been your first Christmas,

Memories of others will be more.

Mommy and Daddy will make sure,

for their little daughter they adore.

Merry first Christmas
