The officers of the Winona County Old Settlers extend a sincere thank you to those who helped make our 130th annual meeting on February 24 a great success.
Thanks to the Winona Middle School cooks for preparing the delicious meal, and the FFA members for serving it, being our sponsor, and helping out anywhere there was a need. We thank the David Rowe Band for good music, David Delano for the interesting talk about their Century Farm, and the clowns for entertaining us.
The oldest married couple was George and Betty Fritz. They were married for 70 years, eight months. The oldest man present was Roy Haake at 95, and the oldest woman was his sister Ruth Bublitz who is 96 years young. They all received a corsage and a gift of money. We were happy to have Bertram Boyum with us also, at the age of 99. He is an auctioneer who entertained us by auctioning off a couple of items, and he did a great job. Congratulations to all of them.
Many thanks also to the businesses and all the people who donated door prizes and money. Come and join us next year and enjoy the fellowship. Everyone is welcome.
